We walked up to and onto a small section of the toe of the Athabasca Glacier that the Canadian Park Service let tourists walk on. On the walk up, there were many signs warning of the dangers of walking on the glacier, including some very gruesome cartoons of people (and children) trapped, hypothermic and dying in a crevasse.
